"Unique." "Authentic." "One-of-a-kind." These are just a few words that one could use to describe not only Casual Home Furniture's showroom but also the store's owners, Jodi and Josh Briseno.

As the one-year anniversary of Casual Home Furniture's grand opening approaches, the couple feels very blessed to be serving the community they have come to know and love-not only by helping their customers find the perfect design styles for their homes but, at times, by simply embracing every person who walks through their doors. Jodi and Josh's welcoming personalities and devoted attention to detail put everyone at ease.

"Home is a place where we can all feel comfortable being our true, authentic selves," Jodi says. She is pleased when customers feel enough at home that they want to sit, stay a while, and share their stories. "We are a part of the community," she adds, "and we are passionate about connecting with our customers and letting them know we are on this journey with them."

Some might not think of buying furniture as a journey, but Jodi understands that frequently people are in the market for new furniture because of a major change or disruption in their lives. For any number of reasons, they are often ending one chapter in their lives and beginning a new one.

"It could be a new marriage, life after a divorce, moving to a new area, or downsizing after the kids have left home," Jodi explains. "Whatever the reason, we respect it. It can be a very emotional experience, so we want our customers to know we will support them, encourage them, and be there for them. From the moment they walk through our doors, all the way through finding the furniture that delights them and delivering it to their home, we love being part of the journey."

When customers walk into Casual Home Furniture, they can immediately tell they have stepped into a calm and relaxed space. Jodi and Josh are adamant that customers don't need to feel pressured or rushed to purchase the products available in their casual store.

"It means a lot to us to provide our customers with a friendly atmosphere," Jodi says. "We just want them to know how grateful we are that they've taken the time to come visit our store."

In fact, there have been times when people from the community have visited the store just to reminisce about the business that used to be housed in the building.  Nestled in the Centerville Crossing Shopping Center, at the intersection of Centerville Turnpike and Mount Pleasant Road, Casual Home Furniture is located in what was, for most of its existence, a pharmacy.

The Brisenos note that some people in the community who have fond memories of this location as the old neighborhood drug store, come in just to walk around the place and reminisce about its history. "We love that!" Josh says."
 
Walking through the wide variety of vignettes on display throughout Casual Home Furniture, Jodi points out interesting features on various items. Whether customers are looking to design a home in a coastal beach theme, a mid-century modern flare, or with the bohemian rustic or modern farmhouse style, Jodi has carefully crafted each area in the store to showcase all sorts of design styles and tastes.

"I love to spend time late at night, researching design styles and learning how to capture the essence and feel of each home style, and then recreating those styles in our showroom," she says. "And, if a customer can't quite find what they are looking for in our store, they can also visit our website."

"Furniture that fits your life!" That is Casual Home Furniture's motto. Jodi and Josh have successfully created a home furnishing store that provides their customers with a one-of-a-kind, friendly, creative, and thoughtful home designing experience.

Best friends for 32 years and married for 30, Josh and Jodi have seamlessly combined their distinct areas of expertise to become Casual Home Furniture's dream-team design team. Thanks to Josh's keen eye for the details about a piece of furniture's construction and inner workings, coupled with Jodi's astute eye for ever-evolving styles, they can answer any question a customer might have. Whether one is looking to furnish an entire new home, update a bedroom, or turn an outdated formal dining room into a bourbon room, Josh and Jodi are prepared to help.     

"We never overlook the fact that each person who comes through our door is an individual with unique needs, wants, and desires," Jodi concludes. However unique and personal a person's dream for their home may be, Jodi and Josh are eager and ready to help make that dream a reality.
